Each year the MSU Alumni Association annually seeks and accepts nominations of alumni for The Distinguished Alumni Award, the Honorary Alumni Award, and the Alumni Service Award. These are the highest awards bestowed by the MSUAA and are presented to MSU graduates and friends who have demonstrated outstanding volunteer service and have achieved the highest level of professional accomplishment, including special honors or recognition, and who demonstrate personal integrity and character.

Distinguished Alumni Award
The MSU Alumni Association annually seeks and accepts nominations of alumni for the Michigan State University Distinguished Alumni Award. The selection is made from candidates who have distinguished themselves by obtaining the highest level of professional accomplishments and who possess the highest standards of integrity and character to positively reflect and enhance the prestige of Michigan State University.
Alumni Service Award
The MSU Alumni Association annually seeks and accepts nominations of graduates or former students for the Michigan State University Alumni Service Award. The selection is made from candidates who have demonstrated continuing outstanding volunteer service to Michigan State University and/or meritorious public service on a local, state, national or international level. Candidates must possess the highest standards of integrity and character to positively reflect and enhance the prestige of Michigan State University.
Honorary Alumni Award
The MSU Alumni Association annually seeks and accepts nominations of individuals for the Michigan State University Honorary Alumni Award. The selection is made from candidates who have demonstrated continuing outstanding volunteer service to Michigan State University on a local, state, national or international level, and who possess the highest standards of integrity and character to positively reflect and enhance the prestige of Michigan State University.
